SPRING 2009 Sorry we've been away for a while, but we've been immersed in the studio mixing down our next release. More on that later... As you may know, since moving to Portland, we've been waiting for the ideal show to kick things off, and it's finally come along. On April 19th and 20th, we'll be opening for Thievery Corporation at the Roseland Theater! The Monday night show is already sold out, so get your tickets for Sunday without delay! As an added bonus, the Friday before the Thievery Corporation shows, Keenan will be playing bass with Tyler and Patrick for their new Happy Hour DJ set at HOLOCENE · Happy Endings (The end of the week never felt so good). Every third Friday from 6 to 9. Can't wait to see you!
FALL 2008 We have a new EP dropping on October 21st, Temptress: Remixed. An eclectic crew of DJs and producers serve up a host of delicious mixes from thick as molasses down-tempo to nasty, sweaty dance floor grinds. San Francisco’s Frost-RAVEN delivers an innovative, tweaky, borderline dubstep, while fellow SF producer J. Rogers’ mix touches equally on Dubstep, 2-Step, and Minimal Techno. Droning bass and dreamy vocals will mesmerize and seduce on Tyler Stone’s Forbidden Fruit Mix in contrast to her intricate nu-jazz, broken-beat meets deep-house mix. Berlin based producer SNAX slams you with his heavy funk production style and drives the point home. Temptress: Remixed will be available worldwide from your favorite digital downlaod stores! ENJOY! WINTER • SPRING 2008 Transitions, Inspirations, Libations and Rain… Deep in our winter hibernation, we found ourselves snuggling down with fires, reunited record collections and great wine. After two thirds of us relocated to Portland Oregon this past fall our creativity and commitment has not only endured but also thrived. We’ve been writing up a storm, and our new material is our best to date. We recently had the pleasure of shooting new photos with the lovely and talented Alicia J Rose. If you don’t know her work do yourself a favor and visit her HERE. Our location was the perfectly styled Ace Hotel, which has become one of our favorite post studio spots. And a true highlight to the shoot was sharing the vestibule with the one and only Crispin Glover. Oh yeah… In preparation for recording our debut LP we’ve decided on a series of west coast shows at the end of March, with shows in San Francisco, San Louis Obispo, LA and culminating at the San Diego Independent Music Festival. We’re looking forward to playing this great festival for the second time and indulging in the best molé on the west cost. For our new (and old) friends in the NW we’re planning a series of shows set for late spring... details forthcoming. (Please see our shows page for details)
— XLR8R Magazine's Broken Business gave Tyler's "Affected" mix a great review in isssue #112.
AUGUST 2007 Wow it has been a very long time since our last posting… and we’ve got so much to share with you!!! Where to begin…? We rounded out the last few months with some amazing shows including the San Diego Indie Music festival and a series of shows at the legendary Elbo Room. In addition, we’ve shared the stage with a diverse line up of bands such as Dengue Fever, Freezepop, and of course all of the Shift/Tilt bands. We recently spent some time at Studio 880 and tracked a few new songs with Marco Martin, who worked on the last Morrissey album, and 880 head engineer Brad Kobylczak. But most notably we released our new remix EP RE:fected – the affected remixes ep to great reception… RE:fected has been featured on the iTunes music stores worldwide for the last three weeks and is included on iTunes Indie Spotlight (Electronic) for August 2007. It includes mixes by Tony Sevener, the man behind the beats for the undeniably hip, soul-infused electro rock trio Honeycut, whose music is currently being featured on the new Apple iMac commercial, Grammy nominated producer Chris Lum, who delivers a retro-tinged electro-funk mix, DJ F, whose Overdrive Mix will demand your attention on the dance floor, and our own Tyler Stone, who chimes in with two wildly different mixes, her Broken Mix & her Static Mix both of which will leave heads boppin’ and asses shakin’. And to top off our news updates… We’re excited to announce that two thirds of Sutro will be calling Portland Oregon home as of September, and will be utilizing the rainy days, Willamette Valley Pinot Noirs and Mid-Century architecture to inspire the completion of our upcoming LP (title TBD). So, if you’re in PDX please send us an email and introduce yourselves. We’d love to meet you! As for SF we’ll see you soon! — February 2007 So far 2007 has kept us very busy! In January we helped launch the new live electronic monthly event at 330 Ritch SHIFT/TILT with some of our favorite bands and 92.7FM BELOW ZERO!
